Get Your Home Office Ready for a Remodel
March 22, 2018Painting You a Beautiful Living Space
March 27, 2018From checking rotten walls, using appropriate paint techniques, or choosing the right paint, painting the exterior of your house can be a great undertaking. There are a lot of factors that you might not take into account until it’s too late: the weather, the slickness or grittiness of the paint, and priming and sealing. You don’t need to take on everything—contract the right company to get the job done for you.
ESP Painting is among the premiere painting companies in Wilsonville, Lake Oswego, and Portland. We take everything into account before we start the paint job to make sure nothing chips, is rotten, or overall is dis satisfactory. You can check our testimonials praising our painters in North Plains, Beaverton, and other parts of the Pacific Northwest. We provide the best in both interior and exterior painting.
What Makes Exterior Painting Special?
Unlike interior painting, exterior painting requires you to work with different surfaces, different paints, and, most obviously, outside. Here are a few things ESP Painting takes into consideration when painting the outside of your building or home:
- The temperature. Mother Nature and paint sometimes are at odds with each other. According to The Spruce, ideal painting weather is no lower than 47 degrees Fahrenheit and no higher than 105 degrees Fahrenheit.
- The season and weather. Winter is not an ideal time for painting. Summer, on the other hand, is the perfect season. Furthermore, paint does not take well to moisture. Don’t apply paint onto a moist surface! Make sure to check your surface after a rainy day.
- Preparation. We have to take as much paint off the house first before applying primer. This requires deep washing, scrubbing, and sandpapering.
- How to apply the paint. There are paint sprayers, rollers, and brushes. Start at the top and work your way down.
- The details. Nails, joints, and crevices are all spaces that may be difficult to reach with a brush. Special devices such as a caulk will do the job for you.
- Top coats and sealants. Different painter paint on different numbers of coats, but more coats are better than one. Use sealant to protect from water damage, drafts, and bugs.
