If you’re making the decision to decorate your bedroom or your child’s bedroom with a sports theme, then it’s safe to say that you fall in the fanatic category. A child spends a lot of their time playing in their bedroom, and your bedroom is where you spend a lot of your time relaxing, so why not decorate it in your favorite theme?
If you’re in the process of decorating a bedroom to match your favorite sports hobby or team, then you’ve stumbled across the most helpful place on the Internet. Finding the perfect colors for your sports themed bedroom can be a bit difficult, so keep reading to learn some “fan-tastic” tips to help you along the way.
Show Your Love
If you have a favorite team, such as the Pittsburgh Steelers, your bedroom is the perfect place to showcase your undying love for them. If you’re going to decorate your child’s bedroom with their favorite sports team, then you’ll want to use the team colors to paint the walls. Just be careful, however, because if the room is a bit small in size, you might want to avoid using team colors that are dark. If the team’s colors are dark, use them to accent the room, instead of painting whole walls those colors.
Paint a Mural
If you’re talented with a paintbrush, or you know someone who is, then you might want to consider painting a fan-tastic mural on one of the walls. You could paint your favorite stadium on the wall or even your favorite player. And depending on the sport that you’re deciding to showcase, you could even paint a goal post or a basketball hoop on the wall!
Keep It Simple
If you’re planning on using a general sports theme in a bedroom, you might want to consider keeping the color of the walls on the simple side. Sports teams and sports equipment come in a variety of wonderful colors, so you want to make sure that you choose a wall color that will blend in well with anything that you want to put in the room. You could also try pulling a color from the bedding that you’re using to tie it all together.
Add Some Stripes
Painting stripes on a wall is one of the trendiest ways to decorate a sports themed bedroom. This is a great way to incorporate your favorite team into the room as well. Using horizontal lines, paint your team’s colors boldly across the wall, and then paint the other walls a basic color such as gray or white.
A sports themed room is a dream for many young children. If you’re planning on decorating your child’s room in a sports theme, make sure to follow all of these tips, and the room will surely turn out fan-tastic!
